Attorney General William Barr appointed Cathy Sagesse to begin hearing cases in October 2019.Judge Sagesse ear ned a Bachelor of Arts in 2004 from the University of Florida and a Juris Doctor in 2007 from Stetson University College of Law. From 2016 to 2019, she served as an assistant chief counsel, Office of the Chief Counsel, Office of the Principal Legal Advisor,Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, in Miami. From2007 to 2016, she served as an assistant state attorney for the Miami-Dade County State Attorney's Office, in Miami. Judge Sagesse is a member of the Florida Bar.
