Judge Star ear ned a Bachelor of Arts in 1996 from California State University, Fullerton,and a Juris Doctor in 1999 from Stetson University College of Law. From 2010 to 2018, she wasa senior attorney for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in Los Angeles. From 2003 to 2010, she was an assistant chief counsel for ICE,DHS, also in Los Angeles. From 2000 to 2003, she was an attorney with the Law Office of Machiavelli W. Chao in Irvine, California. Judge Star is a member of the State Bar of California.
