From 2008 to 2019, he serve das an assistant chief counsel, Office of the Chief Counsel, Office of the Principal Legal Advisor,Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, in Miami. From1999 to 2008, he was an attorney and shareholder with Mesa & Pereira P.A., in Miami. From1996 to 1999, he was an associate attorney at the Law Office of Tomas F. Gamba P.A. From1995 to 1996, he served as an assistant state attorney for the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office, in Miami. Judge Pereira is a member of the Florida Bar.
