Attorney General William P. Barr appointed Christopher M. Schumann as an Immigration Judgein October 2020. Judge Schumann earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1993 from Arizona State University, a Juris Doctor in 1999 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and a Masterof Laws in 2005 from the Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School. From 2000 to2020, he was an attorney and a military judge with the U.S. Air Force in the following locations:Yokota Air Base, Japan; Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama; The Pentagon, District of Columbia; Misawa Air Base, Japan; Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada; Royal Air Force,Lakenheath, England; and Travis Air Force Base, California. In October 2020, he retired as a colonel from the U.S. Air Force, having last served as the chief circuit military judge for the Western Circuit. Judge Schumann is a member of the Pennsylvania State Bar.
