Sarah E. Cade was appointed as an Immigration Judge to begin hearing cases in December 2021. Judge Cade earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2002 from Brandeis University, a Juris Doctor in 2007 from the University of Mississippi, and a Masters in Leadership Studies in 2018 from Meadville Lombard Theological School. From 2018 to 2021, she served as an Assistant Chief Counsel, Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, in Boston. From 2010 to 2018, she served as an Attorney Advisor, Board of Immigration Appeals, Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), Department of Justice (DOJ). From 2008 to 2010, she served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Buffalo Immigration Court, EOIR, DOJ. Judge Cade is a member of the New York State Bar.

Sarah Cade, an immigration judge at the Boston Immigration Court from November 2021 until her resignation in May 2025, told the paper that statutes and regulations are unchanged but that the pace of change in immigration law is 'beyond anything that we've ever seen before.' She previously prosecuted cases for ICE.
