N-644 Application for Posthumous Citizenship
Grants citizenship after death to a noncitizen who died from injury or disease incurred in active duty with the U.S. armed forces during a designated period of hostilities. It must be filed within two years of the death. It also opens immigration benefits for the surviving family.

- The two-year deadline runs from the date of death. An approved posthumous citizenship grant also supports family benefits on Form I-360.
