Attorney General William P. Barr appointed Steven Marcus as an immigration judge in June 2020. Judge Marcus ear ned a Bachelor of Science in 1998 from University of California, Los Angeles and a Juris Doctor in 2004 from Glendale University College of Law. From 2006 to2020, he served as an assistant chief counsel, Office of Chief Counsel, Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, in Los Angeles. From 2005 to 2006, he was in private practice, in Los Angeles. Judge Marcus is am ember of the State Bar of California.
