Dennis James Ryan Jr. was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in November 2023. Judge Ryan ear ned a Bachelor of Arts in 2009 from Loyola College in Maryland and a Juris Doctor in 2013 from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. From 2020 to 2023, he served as an assistant chief counsel with the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, in New York City. From 2018 to 2020, he served as assistant corporation counsel with the New York City Office of Corporation Counsel. From 2013 to 2018, he served as an assistant district attorney with the Nassau County District Attorney's Office on Long Island, New York. Judge Ryan is a member of the Florida Bar, the New Jersey State Bar, and the New York State Bar.
