Official biography
Judge Riefkohl was appointed as an Immigration Judge in March 1995. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1968, and a Juris Doctorate in 1974, both from the University of Puerto Rico. From 1994 to 1995, he worked as a partner in the law firm Riefkohl & Riefkohl, and from 1979 to 1994, he was a partner with Lebenkoff & Coven, both in New York. From 1975 to 1979, he served as a general attorney in the Litigation Division for the former Immigration and Naturalization Service, also in New York. Judge Riefkohl served in the U.S. Air Force (National Guard) from 1968 to 1974. He is a member of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Bar.
