I-352 Immigration Bond
The bond contract signed when someone pays to get a detained person released, or to secure a voluntary departure or an order of supervision. An obligor - a citizen, permanent resident, law firm, or nonprofit - posts the money and guarantees the person will comply with their obligations. The bond is refunded when the case ends and the conditions were met, and forfeited if they were not.

- Not a fee - the bond amount is set by ICE or by an immigration judge and is paid in full as security. The minimum delivery bond is $1,500 by statute, and judges routinely set far higher amounts.

- The obligor posting the bond, through the CeBONDS system or at an ICE office. A detained person can post their own voluntary departure or order of supervision bond.

- Online through CeBONDS at cebonds.ice.gov, or in person at an ICE ERO bond acceptance facility. Payment must be by Fedwire or ACH.

- Bond posting hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the time zone where the person is detained. An obligor must show a REAL ID-compliant document or equivalent proof of citizenship or residence. Obligors without bank access can use a Treasury-certified surety company or a community bond fund. A bond appeal to the BIA uses Form EOIR-26 and carries no fee.
