Veronica M. Segovia was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in November 2023. Judge Segovia ear ned a Bachelor of Arts in 1997 from St. Mary's University and a Juris Doctor in 2003 from St. Mary's University School of Law. From 2018 to 2023, she served as an assistant chief counsel with the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, in San Antonio. From 2008 to 2018, she served as an assistant district attorney for the Bexar County District Attorney's Office in San Antonio. From 2003 to 2008, she practiced criminal defense at the Law Office of Veronica M. Segovia in San Antonio. Judge Segovia is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
