Official biography
Attorney General Barr appointed David A. Norkin to begin hearing cases in January 2020. Judge Norkin ear ned a Bachelor of Arts in 1995 from Bates College and a Juris Doctor in 1999 from The George Washington University Law School. In 2019, he served as court administrator for the Fishkill, Ulster, and Varick immigration courts. From 1999 to 2016, he served as a judge advocate, defense counsel, prosecutor, special assistant U.S. attorney, and appellate military judge in the following locations: Naval Base San Diego, California; Naval Station Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan; and Washington Navy Yard, District of Columbia. Judge Norkin is a member of the Hawaii State Bar, Maryland State Bar, and New York State Bar.
