I-508 Request for Waiver of Certain Rights, Privileges, Exemptions and Immunities

A person in A, G, or NATO status signs it to give up diplomatic privileges and immunities so they can apply for a green card or otherwise stay under ordinary immigration rules. Giving up the immunities is a precondition, not an option.
