I-220B Order of Supervision

The order ICE issues to someone with a final removal order who is released under supervision because removal is not immediately possible. It sets check-in dates, travel limits, and sometimes ankle monitoring or a bond. Missing a check-in is the most common reason people are re-detained.

What changed in 2025 and 2026

  • An order of supervision can support a work permit application under category (c)(18). ICE has sharply reduced discretionary releases and shortened check-in intervals since 2025, and people have been detained at routine check-ins.
